Pasadena Showcase House Teen Suite 2018
It is always an honor to be asked by an Interior Designer to participate in the Pasadena Showcase House
to partner with them to help bring their vision of the room they chose to life. It is a really fun collaboration
for our company to help create something from the imagination of such a talented group of people.
It has been a few years since we participated in the Pasadena Showcase House,
but this year we got to work with Jeanne Chung from Cozy Stylish Chic, which was very exciting.
We helped with the Teen Suite. We created a cabinet to be used in the very large beautiful bathroom.
There were many purposes for this cabinet. It needed to be used for some storage, the laundry, and for display.
I think with Jeanne’s creativity and our engineering, we came up with a beautiful cabinet.
One of the drawers was made with 2 shelf areas for hair products or hair tools like a blow dryer or flat iron.
Remember, this is a teens bathroom. The other 2 drawers were for the laundry, so when it is full, they can open the door,
grab the cloth laundry hamper out of the door, and bring it to the laundry room.
The shelves above are adjustable with hidden lighting around the perimeter to highlight her treasures.
The Pasadena Showcase House was originally formed through a committee of Women to raise money
for the Continuance Fund (later the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association) to help pay for the Pasadena
series of concerts of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1948. In 1965 the “Pasadena Showcase House of Design” was
officially formed. Today the organization uses the proceeds from the Showcase House to fund three annual music
programs, plus award gifts and grants to other nonprofit organizations that provide music programs including
music therapy, music education, scholarships and the underwriting of concerts.
Due to the profound dedication of the members of PSHA who volunteer their time,
the talent and financial commitment of the designers and the many others who donate
their services, products and money – the Pasadena Showcase House of Design is now
one of the oldest, largest and most successful house and garden tours in the United States.
Our favorite room in the house was hands down the kitchen. Move us right in.
The brass and glass display area was to die for. So creative and exquisitely executed.
